Candy dishes
Wood recently finished some projects. He has liked using both the scroll saw and the lathe. Sometimes he'll go for a while doing scroll saw projects. Then it will be lathe projects for a while.
This attractive candy dish probably started out as a candleholder. We first met the glass at our local Goodwill shop. Wood decided that it would make a wonderful "box". He used purpleheart wood to make the main section of the lid.
Wood recently learned a new sanding and finishing technique. The purpleheart wood is now as smooth as the proverbial baby's bottom.
The next candy dish is a project done completely on the lathe as well. Who knows what it was before Goodwill. Wood shaped the finial on the lid to hold glasses as well. Now it's a multifunctional candy dish.
